Concert classic . com – THE INTERNATIONALLY GLORIFIED ZARZUELA

“The choir of the Opéra de Lausanne is apt in its frequent and interwoven appearances, with impeccable Spanish elocution (thanks to the conductor from Spain, Jordi Blanch Tordera). The Orchestre de chambre de Lausanne responds unfailingly to the clear and lively beat of Roberto Forés Veses (current musical director of the Orchestre d’Auvergne). Note the flamenco-style choreography, by a leading figure of the genre, Nuria Castejón, ardently punctuated by the heels of a troupe of experienced dancers. Since flamenco and castanets (not provided for in the score) are essential, it is to be believed, for the obligatory local colour of an export spanishade.”
